Duval County Elections Office Announces 2024 Candidate Qualifying Dates

Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland announced that the 2nd Qualifying Period for the 2024 Election cycle begins at noon on Monday, June 10 through noon, Friday, June 14, 2024.

Candidates for local office must file complete qualifying paperwork and pay any qualifying fees with the Duval County Elections Office by the end of this period. Candidates can also pre-qualify by submitting their paperwork up to two weeks before the start of the qualifying period which began May 27th, 2024. See Section 99.061(8), F.S. 

The following local offices are up for election in Duval County in the 2024 Election Cycle:

Clerk of the Circuit and County Courts
School Board Districts 1, 3, 5, 7
Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Subdistricts 2 & 4
Atlantic Beach Mayor
Atlantic Beach Commissioner, Seat 2 & 3
Baldwin Town Mayor
Baldwin Town Council Group 3 & 4
Jacksonville Beach Mayor
Jacksonville Beach Council Member, Seat 1, 2, 3, & 4
Neptune Beach Mayor
Neptune Beach Councilor, Seat 2 & 3

Judicial candidates had an earlier qualifying period which concluded in April. Voters can view the list of local candidates at Duvalelections.gov.

*Note that candidates for federal, state, and multicounty offices do not file with the Duval County Supervisor of Elections. Instead, those candidates file with the Florida Department of State, Division of Elections.
